Who I am

My name is Martina and I come from the most enchanting city in the world, Rome, where I was born on a sunny day of September.

Besides my passion for baking, I'm a tireless reader of novels (preferably with a happy ending), a wild life enthusiast (yes, one of those who get excited about waking up at 4am to spot animals in the bush. How could you not be one, in SA?!) and a 4x4 beginner (again...how could you not be one, in SA?!)

 

How I started

Well, I moved from Italy to South Africa in October 2011 with my best friend, my fiancè Enrico. We had never been to Africa before, so it was quite a big step as we didn't know what to expect - I barely spoke English at that time...But it was love at first sight!

And after 3 years, here we are, still living in SA and loving this country even more than the first day.

I worked for 5 years in the corporate world, but I had always felt it didn't fit me very well. So one day I quit, and started pursuing a dream: baking cakes and making artisanal gelato. Brave (or stupid) choice?

I'm not sure yet....but I'm sure it makes me happy!
